Meet the Artist!
I'm Alexis, but I go by AP. Welcome to my shoe page! I'm 27 years old and l've been customizing shoes since June of 2020. Right now, l'm based in the beautiful, vibrant city of Miami, FL & Greenville, SC!
I recently graduated from the University of Miami with my Master of Architecture. I also got my Bachelors Degree in Architecture from Clemson University. I have two Great Danes and street cat turned house cat.
Growing up, I was obsessed with sneakers and to this day, l've had a huge passion for trying all disciplines of art. While painting my first pair, I was so discouraged within the first 2 hours, I almost called it quits.
I hated to leave my project unfinished so I kept going. After sticking it out for another 6 hours, I had completed my first pair and was SO glad I kept going. Trust yourself and trust the process!
As a shoe artist, I love being able to translate the visions of my customers and my own onto an irregular canvas…the shoe.
There’s something magical about taking such a common object in our lives and transforming it into a walking piece of art that gets out into the world to show off. These 1 of 1’s are no stagnant piece of art.
This custom shoe journey has taken me and the shoes I paint to places I never thought possible. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to meet some pretty amazing people and artists.
Whenever I begin the process of mocking up shoes for a client, I start with a clean shoe template. From there, I build using elements the client has chosen and then add in my touch to complete the shoe and create a cohesive theme.
This is a mock up I used for a birthday pair for a friend’s nephew. Most clients will give me a general idea of what they’re wanting and will let me use my own creative liberty to design their custom.
